Important Updates

With Gov. Eric Holcomb announcement on Wednesday July 15; the city of Indianapolis, Indiana will remain on Stage 4.5 for an additional 2 weeks. CMB Outdoor Classic must and will adhere to all policies and procedures outlined by the state. Under the Stage 4.5 reopening plan, spectators attending and watching the competition can’t exceed the maximum number of 250 in the stadium. In our best efforts to provide a safe environment, memorable moments for the student athletes, and accommodate families. CMB Outdoor Classic has been broken down into 50 athletes per event on a timed schedule. This will allow us the capabilities of having 2-4 spectators per athlete in attendance throughout the meet. Below for your review is a brief example of the events and the current state guidelines.

On Friday starting at 5pm, we will start with the Men’s:  Master’s, 17/18, and 15/16 year old divisions 100 meter dash.

After the completion of the Men’s 100 meter dash. The Women’s: Master’s, 17/18, and 15/16 year old divisions 100 meter dash will begin.

While the women are competing in the 100 meter dash. All men participating in the ( master’s, open, 17/18, 15/16 divisions ) 200 meter dash will remain on the in-field to rest, stretch, warmup, and register for the 200. The women competing in the ( 17/18 and 15/16 year old divisions) 200 meter dash will follow after.

We will conduct a 10 minute intermission to allow the current spectators in attendance to exit the building and the new families for the boys and girls 10 and under year old divisions to enter the building.

6:30 pm will start the boys and girls 10 year old and Under divisions 100 and 200 meter dash.

Current Marion County Regulations: Since July 9, 2020, Marion County Health Department mandate requires face coverings to be worn by all residents and visitors whenever they are in a public setting or unable to maintain adequate social distancing of at least six feet while in an outdoor public setting. All athletes, coaches, spectators “must’ wear face coverings at all times inside Decatur High School track and field stadium.

The requirement does not apply to individuals who are:

  • Athletes warming up or competing in an event,
  • Children two years of age or younger.
  • Unable to wear a face-covering for a physical, mental or health-related reason
  • Hearing or speaking impaired individuals for whom a face covering would be an obstacle for communication.  

Field Events starts at 5:00 PM on Friday and 8:00 AM on Saturday. Running Events starts at 5:00 PM on Friday and 10:00 AM on Saturday.

Athletes should arrive to the track at 4pm on Friday evening if the are participating in an event listed for Friday evening on the schedule below. Saturday arrival time is 9am. If there is a question specific to your athlete please check with Coach Mike for a more information.

PLEASE BE AWARE OF THE MEET GUIDELINES BELOW:

Athletes Entry/ Exit for the Track and Field Meet

·  Prior to entering the building all athletes and coach’s temperature must be taken. Any athlete or coach with a temperature of 100.4 degrees or higher will not be allowed to participate.

·  Athletes who cannot participate must notify a member of the coaching staff as soon as practical (conversation preferred) so adjustments can be made for the day

·  Athletes hands must be sanitized upon entry and exit of each event.

·  We are asking that all coaches wear face-masks for the entire event and that all athletes wear face-masks when not competing. 

·  Its required that all athletes sanitize their hands after each field event attempt. 

·  Only coaches and athletes preparing for their up incoming event will be allowed on the field for warm-ups. 

·  Only 13 and older athletes will be able to use blocks. 

·  Athletes participating in the 6 and under division will compete in only the 100, 200, and 400 meters. (NO FIELD EVENTS). 

·  The following events has been removed from the CMB Outdoor Classic: High Jump, All Relays, and field events for athletes 6 and under.

PLEASE DO NOT attend the CMB Outdoor Classic event if…

·  You now have, or had in the past 14 days a fever over 100.4 AND shortness of breath

·  In the past 14 days have been within 6 feet for 15 minutes of a person who is COVID-19 positive or who has a fever AND a cough AND shortness of breath

·  You do not have a working thermometer at home or in your vehicle

·  You are not regularly maintaining a “social distance” of 6 feet between you and all other persons (excluding family members living in the home)

·  You are not washing your hands often, especially after being in a public place or after coughing, sneezing or blowing your nose

·  You do not avoid touching your face, nose and eyes with unwashed or unsanitized hands

·  You do not wear a face mask in situations where social distancing is not possible

·  Do not regularly clean and disinfect common surfaces in your home (doorknobs, light switches, counter tops, phones, tablets, faucets, tables and sinks)

·  You have medical conditions that would classify you as high risk for COVID-19

·  You don’t feel well for any other reason with or without COVID-19 symptoms

Spectator Fee: Single Day Pass: $7.00 – Two Day Pass: $10.00 for all spectators
